Zomato Rebrands as Eternal Limited: A New Era Unfolds
In a landmark transformation, food and grocery delivery giant Zomato has officially rebranded as Eternal Limited, following approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). The change, effective March 20, 2025, signals a broader vision beyond food delivery while retaining the strength of its core brands.
What Stays the Same?
Despite the corporate rebranding, Zomato’s food delivery business and app will continue operating under the Zomato name. However, the stock ticker and corporate identity will now reflect the name Eternal Limited.
Why the Name Change (Zomato Rebrands as Eternal)?
The decision to rebrand stems from Zomato’s expanding business portfolio, which now includes multiple thriving ventures across various sectors:
- Zomato – The flagship food delivery and restaurant discovery platform.
- Blinkit – A fast-growing quick commerce service specializing in instant grocery and essentials delivery.
- Hyperpure – A B2B supply chain platform providing high-quality ingredients to restaurants.
- Zomato Live – An initiative focusing on experiential dining and food-related events.
- Feeding India – A social impact program dedicated to reducing hunger and food waste.
- District – A new business venture in development, aimed at expanding the company’s market footprint.
In a letter to shareholders, Deepinder Goyal, Founder & CEO of Zomato, explained the strategic shift.
“When we acquired Blinkit, we internally referred to the company as ‘Eternal’ to distinguish the corporate entity from the Zomato brand. We decided to publicly rename the company once our business portfolio extended beyond food delivery in a significant way. Today, with Blinkit and our other ventures, we have reached that milestone.”
What’s Next for Eternal Limited?
As part of this transition, the company’s corporate website will move from zomato.com to eternal.com, and the stock ticker will also be updated. While Zomato remains a household name in food delivery, Eternal Limited represents the company’s evolution into a diversified business powerhouse.
